Role: Co-Translator (ZH>EN)
Scope of Work:
I co-translated this book, which documents the courageous work of three Chinese medical teams sent to Sierra Leone to combat the Ebola outbreak. The translation required both technical precision in medical terminology and narrative sensitivity to capture the human stories of resilience and international cooperation.
- Medical & Technical Content: Translating accounts of epidemic response, treatment protocols, and training of local medical staff.
- Humanitarian Focus: Preserving the spirit of bravery, sacrifice, and solidarity in the teams’ frontline experiences.
- Cross-Cultural Communication: Adapting the narrative for international readers while ensuring accuracy in medical and cultural contexts.
- Impactful Storytelling: Conveying both the technical fight against Ebola and the broader humanitarian significance.
The Goal: To share China’s contributions to the global fight against Ebola, highlighting medical expertise, international solidarity, and the spirit of humanitarian aid.
